ProximaRide offers “Pink Rides” to make sure female users can feel comfortable ridesharing. In “Pink Rides”, the driver and all of the passengers are females

Female drivers will be able to stipulate which of the rides that they offer are “Pink Rides”.  And, female passengers will be able to see which “Pink Rides” are offered when they are searching for their ride

Important: if you are a female passenger and booked a ride for yourself, you CANNOT send a male passengers in your place, or be accompanied by male passengers who are above 12 years of age. The driver has the right to demand to see their ID

If you do show up with male passenger(s) who are above 12 years of age, then the driver has the full right to refuse taking you, and the driver gets the full booking price. You do not get any refunds

This defies the whole purpose of the Pink Rides. So, should this happen, there are a few things that you need to do:  

• Start by gathering evidence and witness statements where possible, proving that the wrong driver has showed up 

• Call us right away; BEFORE even getting in the car, and leave us a detailed voicemail informing us of the situation 

Then, the decision is completely yours. You have four options: 

1-  Not taking the ride. In this case, you will get a full refund, and the driver does not get anything 

2-  Take the ride, but after you arrive, write to us demanding a full refund. In this case, you will have gotten a free ride 

3-  Take the ride, but split the booking price. In this case, the booking price will be split in half; you will get a refund of 50%, and the other 50% will be paid to the driver 

4-  Take the ride, and if you choose to, you may let it go. In this case, the driver will receive the booking price as usual 

• Important: You MUST have left us a voicemail BEFORE the ride in order to be eligible for the refund 

We appreciate that sometimes things might come up that would prevent the driver from driving as planned. The easy option for the driver is to cancel the ride, leaving the passengers stranded

If the driver is caring enough to send someone else to drive in his or her place in an emergency situation, he or she must inform the passengers ahead of time. If the driver fails to do so, the passengers will have three options:

1-  Refuse to take the ride. In this case, the passenger gets a full refund, but ProximaRide is not responsible for any losses, damages, or inconvenience arising from this situation

2-  Take the ride, but split the booking price. In this case, the booking price will be split in half; you will get a refund of 50%, and the other 50% will be paid to the driver

3-  Take the ride, and if you choose to, you may “let it go”. In this case, the driver will receive the booking price as usual

No you cannot. Our Pink Rides are exclusive for our female members 

This is a delicate issue and it is being debated in the social, political, and even legal arenas. We, ProximaRide, do not want to be part of, or arena for, this debate; we just want our passengers and drivers to arrive at their destination safely and comfortably while treating each other with all due respect. Ridesharing is there to take people from point-A to point-B; it is NOT the place nor the time for raising controversial issues, disputes, debates, … 

With that said, here is ProximaRide’s position: just like in all other delicate situations, we follow the local laws and regulations. So, if you are a transwoman, please ask your driver BEFORE booking, and it is entirely up to them to accept or decline your booking

If you take a ride, and feel that a driver or a passenger mistreats you because of being who you are, please contact us right away and we will intervene to make sure mutual respect and dignity are well maintained throughout our platform. ProximaRide has a zero-tolerance policy towards all kinds of discrimination

The short answer is: absolutely not

There is a small window, however; if you are accompanied by male passenger(s) who are above 12 years of age: if you want to book all seats in the car, and you ask the driver BEFORE booking, then the driver has the choice to take you or not. It is solely subject to her own discretion. If she refuses to take you, you do not have the right to ask, request, beg, or argue with her in any way 

No, it is the exact same luggage requirements and conditions as in the other rides 

In Extra-Care Rides and Pink Rides, passengers have the right to demand to see the driver’s driver’s license.

The important thing to keep in mind is this: they only have the right to see it; they do not have the right to take a photocopy of it, to hold it in their hands, or take a photo of it on their phone; they can only see it while it is in the driver’s hand 

In the other types of rides; our regular rides, it is a matter of mutual and amicable agreement between both parties; the driver and the passenger(s). If, however, the ride is interrupted because of this issue (“Want to see it”, “Won’t let you see it”), ProximaRide will conduct a thorough investigation and make a decision 

Important: the passengers have this right (to demand to see the driver’s license) only BEFORE the ride starts; not during or after 

So, if you are a passenger and have valid reasons as to why you would want to see your driver’s driver’s license, write to us in details, and gather and provide as much evidence as possible 

If you are a driver, your passengers demanded to see your driver’s license, and you did not want to show it to them, write to us in detail, and gather and provide as much evidence as possible 

Both parties; the driver and the passenger(s), need to know that this issue (demand and/or refusal) will not serve as ground for automatic refund, until further investigation by ProximaRide. Our decision is final and binding to all parties
